CANDID

Candid is a magazine of prose and poetry committed to showcasing the best creative nonfiction the Miami University community has to offer. Our mission is to publish the very best nonfiction stories and poems written by our undergraduate and graduate students, but not necessarily about the Miami University community. We want to experience a reality through your eyes. Send us your work that does just that! 

 

Our philosophy is rooted in a deep appreciation for the compelling nature of creative nonfiction. We believe that there is something special and soulful in honest stories made more compelling through the touch of the artist. We believe there is a different power to works embedded in reality that simply can’t be replicated by fictional counterpart, and we seek to publish stories that support our belief.

 

Candid is a one-shot, online magazine that does not reserve any rights to the work of our contributors. The authors of accepted work may resubmit wherever they please upon publication. We accept submissions on a rolling basis with a deadline of April 17th, 2015. All accepted works will be looked at by one of our editors; contributors will receive a proof pending their approval of any changes the editor wishes to suggest. The magazine will be published online by April 29th.
